An analysis of Trump’s record on education shows an excellent commitment to limited government principles. As President, he nominated an ardent defender of school choice and charter schools - Betsy Devos, while also issuing an executive order to further improve school choice during the pandemic. Furthermore, he signed legislation repealing overreaching Obama-era regulations on schools, as well as issued rules limiting abuse of federal student loan forgiveness programs.
