An analysis of Christie’s record on education shows a very strong commitment to limited government principles. As Governor, Christie advocated for school choice and charter schools through his budget proposals despite a legislature which was heavily influenced by teacher’s unions and interests opposed to providing school choice. Additionally, he vetoed efforts to expand government bureaucracy and overreach into local school operations.
