Certificate of need laws prevent individuals from opening or expanding healthcare facilities unless they can prove to the government there is a "need" for the expansion and additional competition. Support is the Limited Government Position as this bill serves as a step in the right direction to improving, or ideally eliminating, the state's certificate of need laws which restrict competition, reducing availability and increasing costs of healthcare services.
