An analysis of Haley’s record on local and national security shows a very strong commitment to limited government principles. As Governor, Haley signed a bill hiring 12 additional police officers solely dedicated to combating crime surrounding illegal immigration and required immigration checks upon arrests of individuals. Additionally, Haley combatted an attempt by the Obama Administration to settle Syrian refugees in South Carolina without the necessary vetting to protect against terrorists.
